This semester has been amazing, I've been keeping caught up and I have my second presentation due 2 weeks from tomorrow, and I'm ready...BOOYAH AM I READY...
next time I'll post as to what it's about (very interesting for any math geeks out there)
Gaming wise, I've been focused on 2 games thus far.
Final Fantasy 13 - This game has been pretty good I enjoy the mechanics of the game and the versatility of them...but I don't like how break neck and fast can make you feel disjointed with the paradigm shifts and non-auto battling. I like the eidolon battles, they are very innovative...they impart the (you just can't beat the piss out of something) mentality to beat the summon...they give you interesting things like (healing helps make the eidolon submit etc.) THAT'S pretty cool. The story is pretty good and even 7 hours in I have no real sense as to the main point of the game. I mean, you have some idea of what's going on...but until later I'm not sure I'll totally know what the point is and that's good...keep 'em guessing! However...the story is disjointed, too much flip-flopping between characters to where you have to remember where you left off with other characters. The linearity of exploration 13 imparts doesn't bother me too much...it just reminds me of 10
Which THAT reminds me of something...13 basically takes SOMETHING from the past 12 games (11 if you don't count 11) *5's job system, 10's linearity, 10's sphere grid, x-2's battle switching, 4's reference, 6's character separation, 7/9/6's ATB system*
So everything that 13 brings to the field is pretty damn badassed...I just guess that the presentation of the game feels a bit off...and I guess regardless of the fact of the presentation of the game...it's damn sexy and isn't going to hinder me playing it...
Guild Wars - I've gotten back into the since I've been wanting to play an MMO and guild wars 2 is coming out next year with the beta being released sometime later this year...
now, while WoW was good, and I did enjoyed what I played of it...I guess I like GW just because it has so much more story driven...I dunno, GW to me has a different feel to it than WoW had...and besides it's free :) But, it's personal choice really...so I've told myself that I want to complete GW and all of it's expansions before GW2 gets released!
So there you have it, that's what I've been up to recently...HOORAY for spring break, I'm going to enjoy it gaming and finish up my presentation :-D

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
